Engelhart Indian Motorcycle Test Drive Event

On Wednesday, Dave, one of the machinists at work told me he was going to Madison on Saturday to trade his Harley in on a new Indian. He also mentioned that Engelhart was having a test drive event. I've never been to a test drive event, and it sounded fun, so I went, and it was AWESOME! Had a great time, and now I want an Indian Chief Vintage.

2014 Dodge Dart

Psyched to drive my new Dodge Dart.
After months of looking at cars, I finally settled on this very slightly used 2014 Dodge Dart. It only has 2,000 miles on it. Thanks to Adam and Brent at Wilde Dodge, for making my most expensive car purchase ever, a painless and even a fun experience. Up until now, the most I've paid for a car was $8,000. I feel like I've been invited to play poker with the good fellas in the back room.

Adam Rolfson sold me a 2014 Dodge Dart.
I was really interested in buying a Subaru WRX or STI. I love those cars. But they all seem to be out of my price range right now. This car isn't as sporty, or as fast as I would like, but it's comfortable, and the interior ROCKS! Which is where I'll be spending most of my time anyway. I'm also looking forward to getting 35 miles to the gallon. The savings on gas should help make my car payment!

Accident on I894

Driving home this morning, the right two lanes were closed due to an accident. There were 3 squad cars and 2 fire department vehicles at the scene. EMS personal had already removed victims when I passed. After a quick look, I'd say it was scene cleanup at this point.

Jefferson county snow plow in the ditch

Here's something you don't see everyday. A snow plow in the ditch. He's deep in there too! Since the roads are clear, I'm not sure how he got stuck. Maybe he was backing up to plow the corner? Poor guy! He was pretty frustrated and shouted "Yeah? You like that?" when he saw me taking pictures. I felt empathetic, but I still laughed and shouted "Yeah, I do!" back. They say "karma can be a bitch." I guess that's true, because since I laughed at this, I've broken a tail light, and a mirror on one of the trucks while plowing snow at Miller. I guess I should be more courteous, although, I laughed at my blunders too, after some cursing!

Boarding Longmire for the winter.

Boarding my trusted steed Longmire for the winter.
It's getting late in the year, and although I've enjoyed riding my bike, even in the cold weather, I think it's time to store it.  I'm mostly concerned about dumping it on ice or snow and wrecking it. So it's back to Action Power Sports where they'll winterize my bike and put it in heated storage.

I'll call him.......Longmire

Longmire in the field near his stable in Sullivan.
After riding my new Victory for a month, I've come up with a name that suits my trusted steed. I'll call him Longmire.

Now if I get that Indian Soft Bagger I want, I'll name him Standing Bear.

40+ MPG - Gotta love it!

Thumbs up for saving money!
I drive 84 miles to work everyday. Driving my Victory to work saves me a lot of money. I'm getting about 44 miles to the gallon. So I spend about $60 a week on gas as opposed to the $130 using the Sedona, or the $170 I'd spend in my Dodge Ram.

Break in service

Hard to believe I've already driven 500 miles on my new bike. That went fast, so it's back to Action Power Sports to get the break in service done.

The guys did an awesome job, even cleaning my bike after I got caught in the rain.

I buy my first brand new vehicle!

My bike on the showroom floor.
After a year of looking at motorcycles, I finally decided I really want a Victory. So I stopped at Action Power Sports this morning and fell in love with this Victory Vegas. I looked at everything. I thought the Harley Fat Boy was a good bike, and I really liked the Ducati Diavel. But this bad boy Victory really does it for me. I give it 10 out of 10 tool man grunts! **GRRRR***

Got a new motorcycle, two thumbs up!
I filled out the paperwork, and by the time I got home Action Power had called me and told me I had the bike.

So I picked up the wife, drove back to Waukesha, and rode home with my brand spanking new motorcycle.
